SG-300 - No traceroute response

I'm having a problem whereby I'm not seeing SG-300 switches in my traceroute output.

I can perform a trace off my LAN and over a WAN with each hop enumerated correctly - however the first two hops are always showing as timed out. This is true when I ping other hosts on my network. These are both SG-300 switchesin layer 3 mode.

Tracing route to XXXXXXXX

over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  2     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  3     1 ms     1 ms     1 ms  X.X.0.7

...etc.

...etc.

A traceroute to hop 2 above correctly shows hop 2, but shows the same problem with hop 1

Tracing route to X.X.0.1

over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  2     1 ms     5 ms     5 ms  X.X.0.1

Trace complete.

A bit of digging around leads me to believe this is a problem with ICMP type 11 messages not being sent from the switch. Am I missing something fundamental here? Any input or pointers appreciated.

Did you ever get an answer or resolve this? I'm having the exact same issue on my network.
