Hello,
does anyone know a easy way to show the currrent PPP authentication protocol that is used ?
I just found on how to get it from the debug output.
But if there is an existing connection, how can I make the router show the protocol that is currently used or that was sucessfull used to authenticate.
Thank you all for the input.
Regards
chris

Hi Chris,
you can only tell the authentication protocol from the debugs of the ppp lcp negotiation phase.

Hi Marcel,
so it looks like, there is no seperate command to see this.
Because I have sometimes to configure it for chap and pap and then if chap is working ok, I would like to turn the support for pap off.
Sometimes it is not possible to get the info from the debug, when there is an existing connection.
Otherwise I would have to interrupt the connection.
Thx for your answer.

Review the dialer config, you will find it there.

Hi Smitesh,
thank you for your answer.
In my case, I have chap and pap configured at the same time. Then after the connection is established, I am able to check the router.
In my config I have configured both methods.
