Hi All,
We've been having this weird issue ongoing in our environment. Running OSPF over a 10G link provided by a provider.
#sh ip ospf traffic tenGigabitEthernet 1/1/1
OSPF header errors
Length 1, Instance ID 0, Checksum 0, Auth Type 1,
Version 0, Bad Source 0, No Virtual Link 0,
Area Mismatch 0, No Sham Link 0, Self Originated 0,
Duplicate ID 0, Hello 0, MTU Mismatch 0,
Nbr Ignored 0, LLS 0, Unknown Neighbor 0,
Authentication 16, TTL Check Fail 0, Test discard 0
This is what is appearing today, but on some days different counters will increase like version.
But all in all, the counters that usually will have values is Authentication/Length/Auth Type.
My understanding is that if my authentication keys were wrong, neighbour would not even establish. But neighbor is currently up and will stay up. Although we experience 1 or 2 short flaps daily. This is a 10G link interconnecting DCs. Routers are connected directly to service provider multiplexer. We've changed the interface, XFP, patch cords, verified config multiple times.
DC 1 DC 2
Router <-> SP MUX - SP MUX <-> Router
Anyone experienced a similar issue before?
Thanks!
Nam
