Hi Guys/Gals,
I am having trouble understanding the use of ACL' s in SNMP groups and can't seem to find the exact answer.
The thing is we use SNMP groups for custom views and we would like to limit access to trusted sources via an ACL.
However, if we specify the ACL in the group and not the user itself it isn't being applied.
I tested this and do not see the ACL specified in the "sh snmp user" output and there were no hits on the ACL.
After I added the user again and specified the ACL in the line it was visible in the "sh snmp user" output and there were hits on the ACL.
I thought the reasoning behind the groups was to add multiple users and apply the same auth methods, views and access.
Is my understanding incomplete or is this not working as intended?
This has been tested on the 9300 and 2960x platforms.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Mike.
