Hello,
With the G1 routers i.e. 1841 and 28xx we had the option of SP Services IOS.
Now with G2 routers i.e. 1941, 2900 and 3900 we have 3 options of software license i.e. SEC, DATA and UC.
To replace the old SP Services a Cisco data sheet is suggesting using the DATA & UC software license.
This can be done with 29xx and 39xx but where we are replacing the 1841 with a 1941 there isn't a UC option.
So how do we re-create the 1841 w/ SP Services IOS in Generation 2 routers without going to the 2900 range?
Regards,
Garry.

UC license only provides VoIP gateway services, since the 1900 does not support VoIP gateway services - it makes no sense having a license for it.
Data license should be sufficient unless you are planning to use any of the security services such as IPSEC/GET VPN/DMVPN and Cisco IOS FW. If you do, then you need the Security license.

Hi Edison,
Ok, thanks for the reply. That does make sense, it was the Cisco data sheet that suggested using a combination of UC & DATA license to replace the SP Services.
As you say there isn't any VoIP support on the 1921/1941.
I will use the DATA license.
Many thanks,
Garry.
