ssh/telnet problem on bgp

Hi, I have two office in US and India. I am running two routers(US-WAN R1/ R2 & IND-WANR1/R2) on each location having BGP from 2 ISPs for redundancy. I have published all routes on bgp on both ISPs.

Today I down the BGP between US-WAN-R1 & IND-WAN-R1), I tried to login US devices from IND-WAN-R2. I was able to ping inside to US-WAN-R1, but unable to telnet/ssh on that. I am using reverbed WCCp on both end.

Any idea why it was happening, although we have proper routes on all routers.

check for access restrictions on the routers,you might have an ACL entry blocking telnet access to the router.

everything was working fine. Only one link flapped and this happened. After 10 min, I was able to login.

more specifically, check the ACL applied to your VTY lines (ie access-class xxx )

make sure the ACL allows telnet from where you are trying to telnet from.

You might also want to specify the source address when you telnet in to ensure you are using the IP thats allowed to Telnet.
