hi ali,

you can go through this

switch 1

ip routing

int gig0/1 (your configuration is int gig 0/2)

no switchport

ip addrerss 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.252

int gig0/2

no switchport

ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.252

!

ip route 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2 10

ip route 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.2 (you have configure 192.168.2.1, but it will be okay) 20

switch 2

ip routing

int gig0/1

no switchport

ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

int g0/2

no switchport (you miss to configure it)

ip address 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0

!

ip route 10.10.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 10

ip route 10.10.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.1 20

end

hope this will help...

hi ali,

you mean to say you want to connect the two switch with two cross cable it means you are going to have the redundant link between switch... at that time you can have two things one is STP and other you can have etherchannel so it up to you what you want...

one way is to connect two switch by converting the switch port to the routed port means layer 3 port and then you can connect it...using two cable and you can have the static routes ...

so its all on your requirement...so tell me what you need exactly...

Hi!

If you want to test two static routes, I dont understand how inter-connecting the 2 switches is going to help, They are going to perform routing anyway!

If you can be more clear what exactly do you want to do, then it maybe of some help to us and to you as well!!!

For performing routing on the L3 switches, enter the following commands at the 'Configure terminal' prompt.

- ip routing

- ip route SOURCE IP ADD MASK DESTINATION IP ADD MASK.

You can also put some interface in place of destination if you desire to.

This is the basic stuff. Maybe when you give more details, it would be better.

Hi Friend

10xs for ur reply.i meant i need to test 2 static route.(i will perform ip routing) the test will be if the primary Link fail the 2nd will be take over.and when the primary link being available it will preempt the secondery.guys just for test.

ali...

so do one thing use any two port as layer 3 port and do same thing on other switch and then connect both the switches... and then configure ip routing and then go for the static routes and you can test the static route ...

and as per your requirement configure the statics route with the different AD... means configure one static route as usual of AD 1 and other with the AD of 100 ... so when the route with the AD 1 will not available at that time route with AD of 100 will be in use...

Hi friend!

10xs for response.have a look to this config;verify it and tell me where is the mistake!

switch 1

ip routing

int gig0/2

no switchport

ip addrerss 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.252

int gig0/2

no switchport

ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.252

!

ip route 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2 10

ip route 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.1 20

switch 2

ip routing

int gig0/1

no switchport

ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

int g0/2

ip address 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0

!

ip route 10.10.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 10

ip route 10.10.2.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.1 20

end

10xs for ur time.

ali you have list your configurartion at there you have given two times same port on switch 1 which is interface gig 0/2 so correct that one and other is like in static route configuration use ip route 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.2 20 ...

and i think you have networks 10.10.1.0 and 10.10.2.0 is connected with the appropriate switch and you are going to make reachable both the network using static route right...

hope this will help you...
