We have a spare C6503 with a SUP720-3BXL around here, which after not being powered on for quite a while, it now complains that "Warning: Rommon NVRAM area is corrupted. Initialize the area to default values". Hardware revision and serial number don't match FN 27595, so I assume the on-board battery (I only found one, a CR1225) is dead (I'll measure its voltage soon enough).
The weird thing is - not only the config and boot variables are lost over power cycles (everything is retained over reloads), but also the SP ROMMON version (not the RP's though) - after the power-off / power-on cycle the SP will always show regions F1 and F2 as invalid (and running from the Gold region), no matter how many times I upgrade it.
Are the SP ROMMON regions dependent on the on-board battery too? Shouldn't they be contained in some non-volatile type of memory?
