We recently purchased a router 1721 with IOS 12.3(7)T1. It was purchased through a vendor who supplies our IT equipment.
I am finding it difficult to get the Cisco TAC support. Though I am Cisco customer, I am not able to open the service request. The supplier is a small timer who does not know much about the support. Can I open a service request through the serial no. of the equipment.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Raghavan

Yes, I agree with you. Recently one of my problem got cleared through this forum in a very short time. Sometimes we need TAC support to get new version of IOS and to download certain softwares, which is possible only if we have an account.

Raghavan.

It is true, if you require TAC support(open case, download IOS, etc.), you have to subscribe the Cisco service contract. Normally, it will be go via the supplier, check w/ supplier how to get the Cisco supply contract from them or simply get it from other Cisco reseller / partner.
You may post your question here then we can try to help.
Hope this helps.
