System returned to ROM by bus error 0x6125DCFC

                  I have a router cisco 3825, It is being restarted autometically. and gives a message "System returned to ROM by bus error at PC 0x6125DCFC, address 0x15A3C78B" in show ver.

can someone help me, what does it means and what is the reason and how to fix it.

I can take a look into the root cause, if you attach "show version", "show region" and crashinfo file (should be in the router flash).

Hi,

It shows that

     System returned to ROM by bus error at PC 0x6125DCFC, address 0x15A3C78B at 09:49:43 UTC Thu Aug 30 2012

And this address is not valid (compare with "sh region" output).

Crashinfo confirms the crash was due to access to invalid address:

     09:49:43 UTC Thu Aug 30 2012: Address Error (load or instruction fetch) exception, CPU signal 10, PC = 0x6125DCFC

I have decoded the crash traces and it points to bug

     CSCsb61664    cisco 7200 crash by bus error at ipnat_destroy_all_seq_delta_pairs

which was fixed in 12.4(04)T02 and later releases.

Hi,

If you follow strictly the same branch, it would be 12.4(4)T8:

But there are more relevant releases there that you can choose too as 12.4(4)T8 was released at 13-AUG-2007. You would need to check for HW requirements and the features you need.
