Transport input all

all,

I've got some problems understanding "transport input all" configured on a tty line (which i need to configure once on my Access Server and once on my clients routers):

-Does it enable all IP protocols ?

-Does it allow only one way traffic (modem --> router), do i need "trasport output all" to allow the other direction traffic (router--> modem) ?

-If i make it "transport input telnet", whould that only enable telnet access or any other protocols ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Mohammed,

´transport input all´ would allow the following protocols for inbound connections to your router:

lat | mop | nasi | pad | rlogin | ssh | telnet | v120

For outbound connections, you indeed need the ´transport output´ command, and then specify the protocols required.

´transport input telnet´ would only allow telnet connections nbound.

Have a look at the relevant command references:

transport input

transport output

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but i've got the following concerns:

1st-When i took a look at the command reference it said:

"telnet Specifies all types of incoming TCP/IP connections. "

Does this mean any IP traffic ? (do i have to do this to allow ppp over the modem ?)

2nd-Does this mean that if i used the router to telnet to the modem --> i'll need "transport output all" and vice versa (to telnet from the modem to the router i'll need "transport input all")?

Thanks in advance.
