I got trunking/ether logical configured on 3750 port 26 & 28 and 2970 PORT 25 and 26. Question is "is there anyway to know that one of the trunking ports stopped working thru text messaging or email? Thank You
If you want to have these kind of notification. You have to use the network management software to receive the trap or poll the equipment and setup the condition to trigger the email or pager to the admin.
Answer to you question, You have to use some monitoring tool, like HP open view or some other, you have to configure trap alert for that trunking port, and integrate with mail , after this you can received email msg on your desk.
