Hello,
I work for a business ISP in the uk and have been troubleshooting a problem with website access for an eu.
When using our standard adsl settings, PPPoA and VCMUX encapsulation, the eu is unable to access certain websites, most notably public sites, hotmail/yahoo/msn/microsoft etc.
There are no error messages to indicate dns errors etc, the connection times out when trying to access.
We have swapped routers using different brands, tested with various mtu settings and the eu can ping successfully at standard size and with the mtu size packets.
However we have discovered that the circuit will function perfectly when changed to LLC/MMODE.
Nobody here or at BT who provision our circuits can supply an answer for this.
Could anyone here assist at all as I am reluctant to push for exchange work and possible downtime as the eu is happy with the service.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andy Knight.

My first guess is that the SP must have misconfigured something somewhere. This could not happen otherwise and the ATM connection is delivered by the SP.

Hello,
there have been previous posts with ADSL in the UK not working properly when using ´dsl operating-mode auto´. I am not sure if this might be related to your specific issue, but try your MUX encapsulation with ´dsl operating-mode ansi-dmt´ and check if that makes a difference.

Hello,
Thankyou very much for your responses.
I have relayed the information over to our client although, as the circuit is functioning perfectly well using llc he is unlikely to want to persue this issue.
Thanks again for your help!
