Unable to access router via console after reload.

Hi All,

I'm connected router to laptop via console. I've reloaded the router and was unable to access through console. Router is connected to laptop via COM13 port.

I thought killing process utilized by COM13 but don't know how to do it...:P

Please suggest !!!!!!

Try restarting your laptop...probably an application issue, use a different application if it still don't work.

What error message do you get when you attempt to console into the router?

Sravan,

There are lot of times it happenes when we use Usb to serial converter. Are you using the same ?

1. In case if this is the issue try to restart the computer and check the new com port number and try it again with the new number.

2. What error message are you getting, If blank screen try to use diff application.

3. Default speed is 9600 ;however you can also try to use 115200 and 38400.

4. If you have access to the device via telnet , please check the following command:-

  Show run | sec line

  Show line console 0 or line number.

5.check the following speed and try console again:-

sh line console 0

   Tty Typ     Tx/Rx    A Modem  Roty AccO AccI   Uses   Noise  Overruns   Int

      0 CTY              -    -      -    -    -      0       0     0/0       -

Line 0, Location: "", Type: ""

Length: 24 lines, Width: 80 columns

Baud rate (TX/RX) is 9600/9600, no parity, 2 stopbits, 8 databits
