understanding end-to-end and local VLans(diagrams included)

hello all,

I am in the process of studying to receive my CCNP. I read some articles on end-to-end and local vlans, basically have this understanding:

-End-to-end would allow for a user to cross the core (into the WAN) to contact another user in the same vlan.

- local Vlan setup would allow for a user  to communicate with a user within a building( in the same vlan): without crossing the core.

I made to diagrams to better understand it...would someone examine them and tell me if they explain these two concepts properly?

End-to-end VLAN's span multiple switches and VLAN's are based on functions.

Local VLAN's are VLAN's on 1 switch and traffic is routed to distribution layer.

VLAN's can't pass routers because VLAN's are layer 2 and routers layer 3.
