Hi
Cisco added those USB Console Ports. I am looking for a console server that can handle those usb ports.
Does anyone know of such a server that has 8 or 16 Ports?
with kind regards
Tobias

Hi Tobias,
I Belive you can achive by having some sort of USB port convertor and from there you can connect to 8 or 16 port Console servers for out of band access.
Check out the below Ateon Devices for more information.
Hope it Helps..

Hi Ganesh
A serial console server for those RJ45 serial ports is not the problem. I could use a cisco router with an async HWIC an get the funktionality. But this works only with classic serial ports.
All serial - usb converter i know of need some kind of driver on the PC/Laptop connected to.
So I think those wont work with a classic RJ45 serial console server.
with kind regards

hi tobias, i have this problem too, now that the usb console devices are becoming more ubiquitous and cisco has sadly stopped using rj45 console port on some models.
i found this from one of our vendors but not 100% sure if it works. wondering if anyone else had any luck:
