Hello, I install Microsoft server 2016 on virtualbox and also created a dns server, active directory and dhcp server. I wanted to know if I could use the virtualized dhcp server to hand out IP Addresses instead of using my cisco 2921 router as a dhcp server? I am also using a cisco 3750E POE switch, so do I need to create a vlans? or can it be done without creating a vlans?

Hi there,
You will need to configure your Windows VM with a bridged interface so that it can respond to the DHCP discover broadcasts.
https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#network_bridged
The 3750E will have VLAN 1 configured by default. Although not recommended to use that particular VLAN for production traffic, if your topology is fairly simple then you will be able to happily use the switch without configuring any further VLANs.
cheers,
Seb.
