Hey guys, Im doing some maintenance on my router through putty. Basically, as the title says i gotta verify router redundancy, and i did the show redundancy states command, and it says that the peer state for it is " 1 - DISABLED"  while it need it to say "STANDBY HOT". Any help is greatly appreciated.

We do not have enough information to be able to give you good advice. What type/model of router are you dealing with? What kind of redundancy are you dealing with? How are they configured? What is the topology of the network?

Rick has beat me to asking many of the same questions.  ; )

Some Cisco routers provide redundancy for some hardware features, like power supplies or route processors, etc.  But "backbone" router redundancy might be provided by multiple routers using different paths.  Then, there's the question about the depth of redundancy in how many failures can it handle.

So, you really need to clarify your goals.

Unfortunately, I do not know any of that, I am very new to all of this IT stuff. I will ask my IT1 when he gets back and see if he knows the commands, or if he would have the answers for your questions, then ill get back to you. Thank you either way though.

Joseph and I frequently approach issues in the same way and frequently ask similar questions, and our suggestions frequently lead to solutions, which I take as an indication that we are probably on the right path. If, at this point, you do not know any of the answers to our questions, then there is not anything we can do for you. When you do have the information come back to the community and we will hope that we can give you helpful advice.
