Hi,
I have one doubt. I came to know that some routers with some IOS versions will support software based vpn without vpn modules.
is it right?
does 1721,1841 and 2821 support vpn without use of vpn modules (i.e, AIM-VPN/EP2-PLUS cards) ?
Regards

Most (if not, all) of the platforms out there will support software-based VPNs. You only need the AIM modules if you want hardware encryption to support a large number of tunnels or high bandwidth encrypted connections.

They do but I would not recommend running encryption on a 1721 without an AIM module.
The 1841/2821 supports onboard hardware-based encryption so you don't need a AIM enncryption module for it. You do, of couse, needs an security image.
