Can we run VRRP between a PC and a Router connected directly

In theory, sure you can.
In practice, unless you're also using the PC as a router (which is often possible), why do you want to?
Regardless, in practice, the PC would need to support VRRP too. I don't recall ever reading of a PC supporting VRRP, but a PC running some flavor of Linux would likely be your best bet for finding support for VRRP. (NB: just did a quick search for Linux and VRRP, and VRRP does seem to exist for Linux.)

If you like PC act as VRRP participant (tested Long back (not sure the results, but it worked). - PC running Linux with Quagga or cumulus for testing) it works.
Make sure you have right Linux Ethernet card and drivers supportsed.

Hi, at the theory level you can run VRRP between two vendors.
Are you trying to do this for POC?
What is the goal you are trying to achieve?

Let me understand your question, if the PC connected directly to the router and Routers are in VRRP ? is this correct ? if so
Technically how does the PC can work if the connected Router fails, the VRRP failover to another Router, PC does not have visibility?
or You looking to build VRRP between PC and Router ( then the question does the PC support VRRP?

Dear the case is like this that we have two routers and one PC. Routers are using VRRP and VIP is configured on PC.
So in this case VRRP will work or we need to add a switch necessarily?
Thanks

Hello
Why would you want to, A PC is an end host so wont be applicable, You could however connect two rtrs and a pc together and run vrrp between two rtrs and have the pc pointing to the vip of the vrrp group.

Yes Dear Paul Driver, Like we have two routers and one PC connected together running VRRP so in this case is it necessary that we need to put a switch also or we can run vrrp directly between a PC and two routers?

Hello
Then yes a small unmanaged 4 port/8port switch would do it, simply attach all 3 devices to it and point your pc to the virtual ip address of the vrrp group created between the rtrs lan interfaces.
