Hello.

What is the current VSS status?

Do you need to configure the switch from the scratch?

Do you need to restore the configuration just in one of the virtual switches?

Do you have a back up of the configuration somewhere?

VSS is working correctly.

I'm just preparing procedures in case of failure or configuration rollback.

I have config backups.

Hello Sir.

Please check the attached doc, I hope that helps you.

Thank you very much for the document. I think, there is a perfect procedure!

One additional question - during normal operation (no failure, of course probably after working hours or during service window) - if I copy my old config from tftp: to startup-config and then simply do "reload" - will VSS and both sups reload and run copied old config?

Do you know how does VSS react for "reload" command?

Hello

VSS is union of two different chassis in on. In VSS you have one control plane (the unique control plane manages both chassis) and two data plane(one for each chassis) having said that, if you issue the command reload since it's only one control plane it will reload the entire vss.

Reload = Reloads the entire VSS.

Redundancy switchover = Reloads the currently active chassis.

Redundancy reload-peer = Reloads the peer hot-standby chassis.

Thank you for very precise answer.

Can I use "configure replace" command on VSS?

Hi!

CMD  Configure replace... I don't see it too much, I don't feel confortable using it. however it's available in vss and it can be use.
