VTI with HSRP

Would like to know whether using an HSRP standby IP is a valid source interface for VTI.   We’ll have 2 ASR 1001 routers at the hub site running HSRP, and VTI tunnels to the spoke sites.  Would like to maintain VTI in the event of a switchover to standby router.  Is this possible, or do I have to maintain two distinct tunnels and use a dynamic routing protocol to re-route traffic that way?  Thanks

Hello,

The HSRP Virtual IP address is the way to go  (and of course one routing protocol for failback purposes)

I've read in a blog post that VTI sourced from a virtual IP address wasn't supported, but the post was 5 years old.  I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to the question, one way or the other though.
