Wan link fiber-net choose ospf broadcast or ospf pt-to-pt

Dear all,

there is a branch office which will be connected back to HQ office via a fiber-net link with ospf area 0 only.

I want to ask do what kinds of ospf connection I need to use ( use default broadcast type or use point to point type to establish the ospf neighbor)?

What things I need to concern? What is the advantage or dis-advantage between them?

Make it point to point unless there is a compelling reason not to. Make sure you set your router priorities so your branch router does not become the DR.

Would recommend p2p.

Either should work. P2p slightly more efficient in that since there will only be the two OSPF neighbors across the link, OSPF doesn't have to perform some of its broadcast media access processing, e.g. DR and BDR election.
