Hello,
The router is using WCCP to redirect traffic to another device, Let's say that device failed. How long does it take the router to realize that device has failed? I didn't see any timer related configuration on the router. Thanks in advance.

Routers and cache engines become aware of each other and form a service group using a management protocol. Once the service group has been established, one of the cache engines is designated to determine load assignments among the cache engines.
When using a cache engine myself and testing it out, if the router did not see a responce via port 53 for DNS then it assumed it was down and forwarded packets normally.

Thanks for the reply. And the time for the router to see the cache engine down is??? 5 seconds, 10 seconds? Is there a documentation to show the detection time from the router?
