The release notes for 15.4.3.M3 do not include the plain 887 in the supported hardware listing.
The release notes for the version I recommended do include it.
If you're downloading IOS images, you must be eligible for TAC support. So feel free to open a case to confirm.

Always check the release notes, especially for end of sales products like yours.
According to the IOS release notes (link), the last release for the 887 router (non-VA base model) is IOS 15.2.4M8 (10 Apirl 2015).
The image file name would be "c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-4.M8.bin". It can be found here.

Hi,
The UNIVERSAL, c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-4.M8.bin is release on APRIL 2015.
On Cisco web site, they suggest to use UNIVERSAL c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-3.M3.bin (JUNE 2015)
I try to boot with it and it doesn't work, see error message below ... normaly this release is newer and compliant too ?
Readonly ROMMON initialized
loadprog: error - Invalid image for platform
e_machine = 221, cpu_type = 180
boot: cannot load "flash:c800-universalk9-mz.SPA.154-3.M3.bin"
Does i need to update ROMMON ? it seems that i have the lastest ROMMON for my device
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(22r)YB5, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Many thks for your advise.

Thks you for this information... more clear for me :)
I don't have access right to download this IOS (Service Contract Required), i need to find it on the web or find someone to give it me.
Anyway, not normal to pay for update his device.

It is quite normal to pay for updated IOS as part of the services a support contract entitlement.. That's been Cisco's model across the majority of their products for over 30 years and it is a model shared among many networking vendors.
If you don't agree with the terms of Cisco's licensing and aren't entitled to download them for your device, then you shouldn't be using the images in violation of those terms.
