control connection use in Vsmart

control connections give OMP information to Vsmart ,does not it?

if yes then if we put max-control-connections 0 for any TLOC then how would it share OMP information with Vmsart?

Do we use this command in special scenario?

There could be situations where a TLOC can not form a connection with the controller like a private network can not reach the controller on the internet.  Default is for each TLOC must form a control connection with vsmart in order to participate in OMP.  Users can put in max-control-connections 0 on the private TLOC then the public interface can relay the private TLOC info to vSmart.

• By default, Wan edge router will try to establish control connection on every transport available.
• The establishment of this control connection is key to get the overlay established over this transport, because the port number used in the control connection will be used for BFD and IPSEC.
• If the WAN edge fails to establish a connection on a certain TLOC after reboot, no overlay tunnels will be established until control connection is established.
• Let's assume there is a transport that is by design doesn't have reachability to controllers and will never establish control connection, then to use this transport in overlay, you need to set max-control-connection to 0.

max-control-connections == 0, is used in the context where the given TLOC doesn't have reachability to Controllers.
For example: MPLS
AND if this device, has internet facing TLOC (public-internet), then the MPLS TLOC is advertised via this TLOC, so that
data-plane connections can still form with other WAN Edge router(s), over the MPLS Transport.
