After adding a feature template to my device template , the device template stated out of sync , what is the cause of this

Most probably, incorrect configuration results this.

Is control connection UP? What does show control connections show from problematic device?

I forgot to mention that before I added the feature templates , the device templates were in sync 

Edit any configuration (which does not have impact) and re-push configuration.

If had removed the feature templates from the device templates and updated the device.

and then add the feature templates into the device templates again would that also fix the problem
