It could be that /tmp directory could be full and/or /boot directory
Verify from vshell - with - df -kh -

If it is /tmp directory, TAC can remove the unnecessary files.
Please open a TAC Case for this

If it is /boot directory, you can delete the older images, to free up the space.

Hi,

if you already downloaded file to vEdge use below command:

request software install-image viptela-20.3.4.3-mips64.tar.gz.

Don't forget to activate after "request software activate now [version]" command.

Hi,

We have the exact same issue.
When requesting install after ~30 minutes, it gives:
tar: write error

It could be that /tmp directory could be full and/or /boot directory
Verify from vshell - with - df -kh -

Yeah, we found out that the /tmp directory was already 100% in storage. So only TAC can remove that file because it needs to access the root before you delete it that's the saddest part if you don't have existing smart account.
