Looking for any information related to querying for ifAlias through vManage REST and/or vEdge SNMP.
I don't see ifAlias available /dataservice/data/device/state/Interface.
It shows up in ifXTable, but only as empty values....
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18.1 = STRING:
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18.2 = STRING:
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18.3 = STRING:
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.18.4 = STRING:
According to the vEdge CLI it looks like SNMP writes are not supported ...
Possible completions:
read-only
read-write DEPRECATED: RW access is not functionally supported on viptela devices
Are there any CLI/UI commands that permit setting if alias?
Can anyone confirm whether this is considered a bug and if so, what the fix schedule looks like. I have received some limited information through support, but no specifics.
Regards,
Fred

Hello,
Can you please confirm what is the supported length for the String used in OID ?
I see in the MIB file for version 18.2 that the maximum string length is 32.
We need larger values because our monitoring system uses these strings.

It would be nice to support ifAlias as standard NMS products expect that support and may not be able to support proprietary objects for some reporting.
