I have installed this image "s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-vz.122-18.SXF5.bin" for the 6500. After the switch reloaded i got the following message when i issued show version (at the end of show version) ...
"Patching is not available since the system is not running from an installed image. To install please use the "install file" command"...
Any idea?

Cisco IOS Software images offering Software Modularity can run in two different modes-either using a single binary image or an installed image. Running the system from a binary image is what most operators are familiar with: a single binary IOS image serving the switch processor and route processor. In contrast, the system will run from a file system with a directory and file structure in if it is running an installed image. The suggested mode of operation is "installed mode".
Since you are running from a binary image patching is not avalaible.
