Adding new I/O module to N7K

Hello Experts ,

I want to add a new I/O module to my N7K , What would be the impact ? I want to know the best practices before and after the installation of the new module .

Hi @mohamed.ibtihaj 

No impact. Nexus 7000/7700 modules are hot swappable and you can remove/install them without any impact.

First, for the insertion, here is the installation guide:

The only thing you need to be aware, if is this is a new module, you will need to allocate the ports of the module to the desired VDC(s).

switch(config)# vdc vdc-name   	
switch(config-vdc)# allocate interface ethernet slot/port
