Hi,
I have Cisco UCS C200M2 connected to Nexus 5010 with Cisco VIC.
I'm unable to boot from san unless i disable FIP on the VIC from the CIMC.
As long as the FIP is enabled the vfc interface remains in down state (waiting for flogi) until the OS is loading the driver (verified it with ESXi 5 that i've installed on the local storage during troubleshooting this issue).
According to the documentation FIP should be enabled unless explicitly directed by the TAC to disable it.
BR,
Yakov

Hello Yakov,
Please make sure the native vlan configured on Nexus switchport matches the default VLAN defined on vHBA properties on the card.
Reboot of the server is required for the changes to take effect.
If the issue persists, provide us the following information
CIMC version
P81E firmware
OS and driver version
From CIMC CLI,
scope chassis
show adapter 1 detail
show host-fc-if detail
From Nexus switch
show int vfc
show vsan membership

Hi Padramas,
On the Nexus the native vlan is 1
NX5K# show interface ethernet 1/9 switchport
Name: Ethernet1/9
Switchport: Enabled
Switchport Monitor: Not enabled
Operational Mode: trunk
Access Mode VLAN: 1 (default)
Trunking Native Mode VLAN: 1 (default)
Trunking VLANs Allowed: 1-3967,4048-4093
The vHBA configuration was the default which means that Default VLAN was configured to NONE, once i've changed the default VLAN to 1 the vfc has remained in down state even after the ESXi was up and loaded the drivers.

Hi Yakov,
Did you solve the same problem when I try to SAN boot a C220 which is directly connect to the 5548UP.
thanks,
Jeff
