consequence of vmware dropping support for 3. party switch like cisco nexus 1000v

hi out there

all here are probably aware of this little note from vmware - http://packetpushers.net/vmware-kills-third-party-vswitches/ - and I am a bit in doubt about the consequence of this. As far as I can see this will also kill VSG - so we are left with VMWare DSwitch / NSX and their vSchield.

What has other thought about this?

I'm probably biased, but a couple of consequences I can think of are

alienating customers

alienating partners
