Hello,
I'm trying to setup a moxa nport 5610-8 serial server as console server. I can get connected to my cisco 2600 series router, but...
I get no echo as i'm typing commands. i seem to always get an '@' on every other line.
The wiring diagram i'm using consists of 4 wires,
on the moxa i have
wire
1 not used
2 not used
3 ground
4 TXD
5 RXD
on my 2600 series I have
wire
1 not used
2 not used
3 TXD
4 ground
5 ground
6 RXD
One note, on the grounds of the cisco I have them crossed as one wire into the moxa. I've even made a 8 wire cable for this, same result except i didn't connect the 2 grounds together on the cisco end.
I've sit down and manually mapped the wiring diagrams from the cisco console port to the wiring that I see for the moxa.
I've verified the settings of 8N1 no flow control. Whenever I do a show running, i get oh about 15 lines and that's it. I've tried on a 2950 and a 2800 series router and I get the same results.
Does anybody even have a clue? I'm really frustrated.
Thanks in advance.
