Hi,

I am about to upgrade Nexus 5K after long time. can anyone give me rough estimate of how long this will take me. I have 2 Nexus 5K in vPC domain and four FEXs singled homed to the 5Ks. This is going to be a disruptive upgrade and i appreciate it if someone recently did disruptive upgrade gets back to me.

thanks,

Kerim

The upgrade doesn't take much time.  Load the new image and the kick start image into the switches using the USB port. Set your boot variable and reboot. The 5ks boot in about 5 minutes. It doesn't take very long.

WIthout FEX, it takes less than 300 seconds. With FEX, it will be take much longer.

I usually will use the "install all" command for both disruptive and non-disruptive upgrade, to let the system to check the image first.

HTH,

jerry

HTH,

thank you for sharing your experience. Has anybody tried Nexus-OS version 5.2.1 yet? any reason why i may not want to upgrade to this version?

thanks,

Kerim

5.2(1)Nx(x) is the long term release. At some point, you might want to go with this release.

HTH,

jerry

so does this mean 5.1 is going to retire after some time in the long run?

thanks!
