DNS Changes on UCSM

Guys,

I am about to change my DNS IP on UCSM. I have 4 blades all hosting ESXi on it.

- DNS changes are done on all 4  ESXi host with the new DNS IP.

- Right now I need to make changes on the DNS IP on UCSM.

Making changes to the DNS IP on UCSM will only take affect on the blade servers..Correct?

By right, it shouldn't be affecting the ESXi DNS / the virtual machine since the IP is configured on the hyper-visor level.

To add on, UCSM DNS and the ESXi host DNS is configured as the same ip (192.168.11.xx).  So I am not very concern at the moment.

But how if its configured on different IP? What will be the outcome?

UCS is agnostic to the OS !

Changing the DNS in UCS only affects the UCS components, e.g. FI, CIMC, but not the ESX servers.

Thanks Walter :-)
