Limit Bandwith

Hello, i search to limit bandwith on cisco 2950 switch.

I know that i can fix the bandwith to 10 or 100 Mb but i want to define it to 1Mb for example.

Hi,

You need to use policing in order to accomplish that. However, there is a limitation on 2950 switches in that you cannot police in the egress direction.

To do any form of rate-limiting or policing, you have to use an EI version of the 2950. While it is just an image upgrade on a 3550, the 2950 requires different hardware to implement similar features.
