MP-BGP EVPN VXLAN routing support on N5K-C5596UP-SUP

I was looking to find out if the N5K-C5596UP-SUP would support the MP-BGP EVPN  VXLAN routing (control or data plane )  feature?

AFAIK the online documentation does not seem to include the nexus 5900 in the mix for this feature. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

"""The MP-BGP EVPN control plane for VXLAN was introduced into Cisco® NX-OS Software Release 7.0(3)I1(1) for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches. The software functions will be implemented in the Cisco NX-OS software trains for other Cisco Nexus switch platforms, such as the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches, as well."""

Hi,

I guess you are referring to 55xx series switches. I got confused when I saw you mentioning 5900.

It's not supported on 55xx nexus switches (including 5596UP). It's supported only on 56xx based switches like 5672, 56128 etc.

It's not supported on Nexus 600x series as well. Thats why, you will always find VxLAN config guides for 56xx and not for other switches. This is due to h/w ASIC difference which enables this support.

I believe this is captured in some of the document but i'm unable to pull the same.

Regards,

Sunil.
