N9K vs N3K CLI mode on 3100-V -- what documentation to follow?

We're waiting for a couple of new 31108PC-V to arrive (still 4-6 weeks away), but I wonder what guides I should be reading here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/nexus-3000-series-switches/products-installation-and-configuration-guides-list.html -- the Cisco Nexus 3000 ones or the Cisco Nexus 9000 ones (and then which ones since none of them mention the 3100-V series and/or the 31109PC-V specifically)?

I did some googling, but either I was really bad at picking the search terms, or there is no relevant info on this. Unfortunately I can't do any "real" N3K testing for now, and VIRL only has the N9Kv.

Hi there,

The Nexus 31108PC-V is essentially a N9K which is why it only supports the N9K CLI as the documentation states. I realize this statement is not the most clear "Refer to the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series configuration guides for the Cisco Nexus 9000 Series CLI commands." so to answer your question - Please follow the Nexus 9000 configuration guides for the 31108PC-V, that is what we intended to convey :)

The page about configuring N3Ks (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/switches/nexus-3000-series-switches/products-installation-and-configuration-guides-list.html) unfortunately doesn't list the 31108PC-V, it has guides for "3232C and 3264Q", and "3164Q and 31128PQ". Could you advise on which one should we pick as a reference?

Right, so for the Nexus 31108PC-V, we gotta look for the Nexus 9000 configuration guides which is why you won't see it listed under the Nexus 3000s ones.
