Nexus 93240YC-FX2 Air flow

 Hello,

Is it possible to swap the PSU and fans from port-side exhaust to port side intake of a Nexus 93240YC-FX2? Or the entire switch has to be replaced to change the air flow? Can't find any docs that says it's possible.

Thanks.

Hello @skyHH,

The airflow design is a critical component to ensure proper cooling and optimal switch performance. If you require a switch with a different airflow configuration (e.g., port-side intake), it's recommended to select a switch model that is designed with the desired airflow direction from the manufacturer.

Hi,

93240YC-FX2 can do both airflow, are you saying that the chassis itself were also designed based on the airflow direction?

Sorry @skyHH,

mistake with your model.

The doc don't say specificly, but it is possible if you order the fan and power supply modules with port-side intake.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus9000/hw/n93240ycfx2_hig/guide/b_n93240YC-FX2_nxos_hardware_installation_guide/b_n93240YC-FX2_nxos_hardware_installation_guide_chapter_01.html

This documentation says: "If you are installing a dual-direction power supply, that module automatically uses the same airflow direction as the other modules in the switch." then there is no hardware limitation.

Best regards
