Iqbal,

Processor Socket refers to physical CPUs that can be installed on the system.

Number of sockets depends upon server model.  Here is the link for Blade and Rack server technical specifications

HI

Thanks for respomse. I am not clear yet.

In Blade Server Series model B200 M2   Processors Socket 2 and Processors Support Intel Xeon processor 5600 Series.

My question this Blade server how many Physical server can insert 1or 2 or 3 ?

I have found processors socket 2 means support types of processor not number of physical processors.

UCS B440 model support Either 2 or 4 Intel® Xeon® E7-4800 or E7-8800 series processors but its Processors Socket 4 that means this model support 4 physical processors ?

For how many physical support , i need to find out Technical Specification  and no relation socket with number of physical processor ?

Iqbal,

B200 blade has 2 physical CPU sockets and we can install one CPU per socket. Depending upon the CPU model, it can support different number of cores for each CPU.

Yes, B440 has 4 processors sockets which allows us to install upto 4 physical CPUs on it ( one physical CPU per socket ).

Hope this helps,

Padma
