I am looking to swap out 3rd party SFPs and replace them with Official Cisco SFPs, at a branch site.
I was wondering how one would go about confirming whether or not the connected transceiver, is generic (3rd Party) or a legitimate Cisco SFP, without having to physically look at the info on the transceiver itself.
On the switch I know I was able to list all transceiver details interface using:
Switch01# show interface transceiver
I received the following: (example)

some of the transceivers shows additional info such as "Cisco Part Number" and "Cisco product ID" & "Cisco Vendor ID", would it be correct to assume, that the transceivers that list the additional Cisco info are legitimate and the one's that don't are generic?
