Hi,
With the help of the VMware sys admin I have almost finish to setup a new Nexus 1000v configuration with 2x VSM and 1x VEM ( temporary ).
I was lookinkg at the config and found that the IP associated to the VEM is a IP used for the ISCSI, so it's not even routed internaly in our LAN or DMZ.
From the Nexus :
swuapdmz03# show module
Mod Ports Module-Type Model Status
--- ----- -------------------------------- ------------------ ------------
1 0 Virtual Supervisor Module Nexus1000V ha-standby
2 0 Virtual Supervisor Module Nexus1000V active *

3 10.11.43.9 4c4c4544-0037-5810-8035-b7c04f585631 dmz01.ca <--- That's an IP for the ISCSI.
How is it possible? Any idea?
Thanks.

Hello Guillaume,
Can you please share the output of following commands from VSM
show int virtual
show run int vethX
Do you have multiple vmkernel interfaces on that host ?

Hi Padma,
Here the outptu from the 2 commands :
dmz03# show int virtual
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Port Adapter Owner Mod Host
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Veth1 vmk5 VMware VMkernel 3 esx03.uuu.com
Veth3 vmk0 VMware VMkernel 3 esx03.uuu.com
dmz03# sh run int vethernet 3
!Command: show running-config interface Vethernet3
!Time: Fri Jan 18 08:14:20 2013
version 4.2(1)SV2(1.1)
interface Vethernet3
inherit port-profile service_console
description VMware VMkernel, vmk0
vmware dvport 609 dvswitch uuid "e4 b8 34 50 86 40 5b 65-20 ad 00 6d 19 71 74 b1"
vmware vm mac 90B1.1C11.D90B
There's 2 vkernel that are used for the ISCSI but they haven't be added to the vswitch config.
Thanks.
Guillaume
