Which command on a Catalyst 6000 has the same function as the Catalyst 5000 command <b>set option errport enable</b>?

The command is the same for both switches, but you need Catalyst software version 5.2.3 or later on the Catalyst 6000/6500 to execute the command. The command must be entered completely in the command line interface (CLI) because there is no CLI help for this command.

Set Option Errport actually masks the problem by not errdisabling the ports. Best thing to do to would be to see why the port is taking errors in the first place. Also this command is for all switchports and not per port or per module. We have a document on CCO which explains errdisable in detail
