Class of Service (CoS) Settings Configuration on ESW500 Series Switches
Objectives
Class of Service (CoS) is a 3-bit field within an Ethernet frame header know as the Priority Code Point (PCP) when using a 802.1 network. This field specifies a priority value that is between 0 and 7 inclusive that can be used by Quality of Service (QoS) to differentiate packet traffic sent by the user. The values of the CoS from 0 to 3 have normal priority and values from 4-7 have higher priority. This article explains how to configure Class of Service settings on the ESW500 Series Switches.

Step 4. (Optional) Check any Restore Defaults check box to restore the default setting of the desired interface.
Step 5. Click any Edit button to modify the desired interface. The Edit Interface Priority window appears:
Step 6. Click the Port or EtherChannel radio button and choose the port or EtherChannel for which the priority is to be defined from the drop-down list.

The default value is 0.
