Firmware Upgrade on WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router
Objective
A software upgrade provides new features to any device electronically without any need to buy a new product. Software upgrades keeps a device up to date with the latest releases and technologies like enhanced security, new features, bug fixes or performance upgrades.
This document explains how to upgrade the firmware on the WRVS4400N Wireless-N Gigabit Security Router.
Step 1. Navigate to the Cisco web page to download the latest firmware upgrade file for the WRVS4400N.
Step 2. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > Firmware Upgrade. The Firmware Upgrade page opens:
Step 3. Click Choose File to browse for the firmware upgrade file from the hard drive.
Step 4. Click Start to Upgrade to begin the firmware upgrade from the selected file. A Firmware Upgrade confirmation window appears.
Step 5. Click Yes to terminate the internet connection and continue to upgrade the firmware. The firmware will begin to update. Wait a couple of minutes for the update to complete. When finished, the Router Rebooting page opens:
Note: The router automatically reboots. Wait a couple of minutes for the reboot to complete. The firmware upgrade is complete and the Summary page opens:
