Objective
This article explains how to install the Video Monitoring Software on Windows operating system devices which can be used for the Cisco cameras.
The advantage of installing this software is that any number of cameras can be installed even without the camera installation CD by this normal procedure.

Installation of Video Monitoring Software for PVC2300
Step 1. Turn off the User Account Control (UAC) temporarily in User Accounts tasks window by navigating to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Change User Accounts Control Settings. Drag the indicator to Never Notify and click OK.
Note: Once this is done restart the computer so that the change will take effect.
Step 2. Go to www.cisco.com and login with the registered username and password.
Step 3. In the search bar type Video monitoring software 1.2.1 and click on the first download link available.
Step 4. Click Download and the file is saved to your computer in zip format.
Step 5. Open the zip file and click on the Setup application to start the installation.
Step 6. Use the Cisco Video Monitoring System InstallShield Wizard to choose the preferred language and click Next.
Step 7. Click Next to continue the installation.
Step 8. Read the license agreement, click I accept the terms of the license agreement, and click Next.
Step 9. In the Customer Information page, enter the desired username in the User Name field.
Step 10. Enter the desired company name in the Company Name field and click Next.
Step 11. Click the desired radio button to choose which type of installation that needs to be installed.
• Complete — All the program features will be installed.
• Custom — Allows the user to choose which features they would like to install.
Step 12. After the specific type of installation is chosen, click Install in the Ready to Install the Program page.
Step 13. The setup status appears and it takes around 30 seconds to 3 minutes to install this software. It depends on the system and the internet speed.
Note: In case if the installation needs to be aborted, click Cancel at any time.
Step 14. The InstallShield Wizard Complete page appears once the installation is completed. Click Finish to complete the installation.
Step 15. Choose Start > Main Console and then right click and choose Run as administrator.
Step 16. The First Execution of Main Console System window opens. Enter the password, re-enter it to confirm it and click OK.
The video monitoring system opens and use the GUI to work with the camera.
