IP Alias Configuration on SA540 Security Appliance
Objective
IP Alias is used to assign more than one IP address to a network interface. IP Aliasing allows one node on a network to have multiple connections to a network, each serving a different purpose.
This article explains how to configure an IP Alias on the SA540 Security Appliance.

IP Alias
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Networking > WAN > IP Alias. The IP Aliases pageopens:
Step 2. Click Add. The IP Aliases window opens:
Step 3. From the Interface drop-down list, choose the interface on which the IP alias has to be created.
Step 4. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address that has to be added.
Step 5. In the Subnet Mask field, enter the appropriate subnet mask of the IP address.
Step 6. Click Apply to save the settings.
Step 7. (Optional) Click Reset to revert the changes.
Step 8. (Optional) To edit the IP Alias, check the check box next to the appropriate one and click Edit. Then continue from the Step 3.
Step 9. (Optional) To delete an IP Alias, check the check box next to the appropriate one and click Delete.
