Objective
Setting up the Voicemail feature on the Cisco IP Phone lets your caller leave a message whenever you are not available to take the call. The message can then be retrieved at a later time.
This article aims to show you how to set up Voicemail on your IP Phone through the web-based utility or through the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the phone.

Set up Voicemail
Through the Web-based Utility
Step 1. Access the web-based utility of your IP Phone then click Admin Login > advanced.
Step 2. Click Voice > Phone.
Step 3. In the General area, enter the telephone number of the voice mailbox in the Voice Mail Number field. This is the number where the caller would be redirected and leave his message whenever you are not available to answer the call.
Note: In this example, the number is 1234567890.
Step 4. Click Submit All Changes.
You should now have set up voicemail through the web-based utility of the phone.
Through the GUI of the Phone
Step 1. Press the Applications button on the IP phone.
Step 2. Using the Navigation cluster button, navigate to User preferences then press the Select softkey.
Step 3. Choose Call preferences then press the Select softkey.
Step 4. Using the Navigation cluster button, navigate to Voice mail and enter the voice mailbox number in the field provided.
Note: In this example, 1234567890 is used as the voice mailbox number.
Step 5. Press the Set softkey.
You should now have set up voicemail through the GUI of your phone.
