VPN Passthrough Configuration on WRV210 Router

Objectives

VPN Passthrough allows VPN tunnels to pass through the router’s firewall using IPSec, L2TP, or PPTP protocols. This document describes how to configure VPN Passthrough on the WRV210 Router.

VPN Passthrough on WRV210 Router

 

Step 1. Using the Router Configuration Utility, choose VPN > VPN Passthrough.

• IPSec Pass Through — Internet Protocol Security(IPSec) is a suite of protocols used to implement secure exchange of packets at the IP layer. IPSec Passthrough is enabled by default. To disable IPSec Passthrough click  Disabled.

• PPTP Pass Through — Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol(PPTP) is the method used to enable VPN sessions through an IP network. PPTP Passthrough is enabled by default. To disable PPTP Passthrough click Disabled.

• L2TP Pass Through — Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP) is a standard which allows virtual links across the Internet. L2TP Passthrough is enabled by default. To disable L2TP Passthrough click Disabled.

Step 2. Click Save.

Note: Passhroughs are enabled by default. Passthroughs may prevent VPN clients from connecting to the network if disabled.
